
Kathy is American (born in Chicago)
educated at the University of Chicago Lab School, Indiana University and Loyola
University.
In addition to starting Garland Holmes Collections with David, she
was Executive Vice
President of the family business which included, secondary metals
operations producing zinc die cast alloys plus retail, distribution and property
interests. Imperial Arts Corporation, a subsidiary started by Kathy's mother, became
the largest US importer of stainless steel flatware & restaurant supplies from Japan.
Before appointment as Executive Vice President
and then President of the former holding company, Kathy was Vice
President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer. |
David was born and educated in England. He is a
Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman
of the Worshipful Company of Marketors. He first graduated in electrical & electronic
engineering and his postgraduate qualifications include a Masters
Degree from the University of
Lancaster Management School.
Before helping Kathy in 1997 to establish Garland
Holmes, Inc. in Chicago, David was Vice President, Sales & Marketing with global
responsibilities for a US electrical & electronics corporation employing over 2,000 people worldwide. He has extensive personal international marketing
experience throughout Asia-Pacific and throughout Europe (EMEA), including starting up
and managing overseas subsidiaries, as well as experience as Chief
Marketing Officer in the USA.
David maintained his links with manufacturing & distribution industries
as a non-executive Director on the board of an electronic products corporation in
Massachusetts. In addition, his voluntary work has included being a non-executive Director of
Cityside Regeneration, a Private Sector Member on the Board of the City Fringe
Partnership and a founding member of an 'Outreach' programme providing business
advice for small to medium business enterprises (SMEs) and charitable status organisations. A
keen motoring enthusiast, David is a member of the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall,
London and also a member of the City Livery Yacht Club.
Ted is American (born in Pennsylvania) and studied Fine Arts (Painting & Graphic Design) at Memphis College of Art, Tennessee.
Before joining Garland Holmes as Store Manager in September 2000, Ted had over ten of years of retail experience including home furnishings, furniture and decorative accessories. His attention to artistic detail is second to none, which also makes him an ideal in-house quality control manager!
In his spare time, Ted chases his two 140 lb plus Great Dane dogs around the house, which he argues is much better exercise than a treadmill!
His other hobby is to spend Springs, Summers and Falls in the pursuit of the perfect Garden!
In recognition of Ted's contributions to the company, he was made a Director of Garland Holmes on May 1st, 2004.
